When GoFullPage is the right tool

GoFullPage is a browser extension that captures the tab you are looking at. That makes it the right choice in a few common cases.

Use it for pages behind a login. It sees what you see, so a dashboard, an inbox or an admin screen is captured as it is.

Use it when the current state of the page matters. An open menu, a filled-in form or a filtered table stays the way you left it.

Use it when you want more than a PNG. The free version also saves a JPG or a PDF, and GoFullPage Premium adds cropping, blur, text and highlights.

If the GoFullPage Chrome extension already does what you need, keep it. This page is for the times it cannot be installed.

When you need something else

An extension has to be installed, and that is not always possible. Fullshot takes the same kind of full page screenshot from a web page instead of an extension.

Your work computer blocks extensions. Many companies lock the browser down, and a web page needs no approval.

You are on a phone, a tablet or someone else’s computer. There is nothing to add and nothing to remove afterwards.

You want a link, not a file. Fullshot hosts the PNG for 7 days, so you can paste the link into a chat or a ticket.

You want to see another device’s layout. Fullshot loads the page the way a phone or a tablet would, whatever device you are holding.

You want a neutral capture. Fullshot uses a clean browser, so your extensions, your login and your settings are not in the picture.

Capture in Firefox, Edge and Safari

GoFullPage has versions for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Its website does not list one for Safari.

Fullshot does not depend on the browser. The same form works in Firefox, Edge, Safari and Chrome, and the result is the same in each.

That also covers a browser you are not allowed to change, such as a managed work profile or a shared computer.

If you already use GoFullPage for Firefox or GoFullPage for Edge, nothing changes for you. Fullshot is there for the browser or the computer where the add-on is missing.

Capture on your phone

Open this page in your phone browser and paste the address. There is no app to download and no extension to add.

Choose Mobile to capture the layout phones get, or Desktop to see the layout a laptop gets. Phones call the result a scrolling screenshot.

The PNG opens from a link. You can save it to your photos or forward the link as it is.

Tablet presets work the same way. Pick iPad or Surface Pro to see the layout a tablet gets.

How to switch

Switching takes one capture. You can leave GoFullPage installed for the cases where it fits.

  1. 1.0

    Paste the URL

Copy the address of the page you would have captured. Paste it into the form at the top of this page.

  2. 2.0

    Pick a device

Choose desktop, mobile or tablet and a screen size. Full HD is selected when you open the page.

  3. 3.0

    Copy the link

Fullshot returns one PNG on a hosted link. Most pages take 5 to 30 seconds.
